While you've got firearms like the Lee Metford Rifle and Winchester Rifle for ranged combat, these melee tools are still super handy for gathering resources or when you're running low on ammo. Just a heads-up, their names can change, so don't be surprised if they're different each time you visit. Dauntless Tools Stats

When you look at the numbers, the Dauntless tools are generally the winners for raw melee damage. The Axepick and Maul variants give you a nice boost in Strength too. The Maul, in particular, packs the biggest melee punch, making it a solid choice for your companion if they're going to be in the thick of it, or for you if you want to dish out serious damage yourself. You're getting more melee damage with Dauntless tools compared to their Mystic counterparts, and the stamina cost is the same. If melee combat is your jam, Dauntless is usually the way to go.

Mystic Tools Stats

Okay, so the Mystic tools are a bit behind on base melee damage, but here's where they shine: they've got double the Magick Power of the Dauntless tools. Right now in early access, there aren't a ton of magick damage options for melee tools, but if you're big on using spells, the Mystic tools might be more your speed. It's possible future updates could add more spell enchantments for weapons, which might make Mystic tools even better for a magick-focused build. For now, though, they're more of a niche pick.
