For instance, most crafting stations benefit from proximity to a Campfire or Bonfire, so placing these centrally allows multiple stations to draw from their advantages.

Storage Options in Nightingale

Here are the storage methods you'll encounter in nightingale and how to best utilize them:

• Angling Basket: This is likely the first storage you'll find, offering a simple 15-slot capacity. Their compact, albeit irregular, shape makes them suitable for small spaces but less ideal for stacking. Place them beside your bed or at your base entrance to keep them out of the way of crafting areas.
• Weathered Trunk: Unlocked next, this offers a significantly larger 40-slot capacity. However, they are much larger than Angling Baskets, requiring more space. You can expand your base, limit yourself to one or two in a room's center, or place them outside, though this is less convenient for quick resource checks near crafting stations.
• Rustic Toolbox: This basic toolbox, often unlocked early, has a 15-slot capacity like the Angling Basket. Its primary advantage is its smaller size and regular shape, fitting into tighter spaces. They are ideal beside a crafting station or at the end of your bed. Crucially, they can be placed on top of crafting stations with flat surfaces, like a workbench, for storing relevant crafting items.
• Voyager’s Steamer Trunk: This trunk is a smaller version of the Weathered Trunk but retains the 40-slot capacity, saving space. They can be placed on top of crafting stations if space allows and fit into small nooks and crannies.
• Utilitarian Shelf: This furniture item (found in the Furniture: Shelving menu) significantly enhances storage efficiency. You can stack multiple Voyager’s Steamer Trunks on each shelf, and even on the ground beneath the unit. Placing one on the top shelf is also easily reachable.
