Leogron Boss Guide

Struggling with the Leogron boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio? Get the best strategy, understand its attacks, and learn its weaknesses to win.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weak to Pierce attacks.
• Weak to Fire attacks.

Phases:

1. The Leogron will always start with 'Heat Riser', buffing its Attack, Defense, Hit, and Evasion for three turns. It will reapply this buff whenever it wears off.
2. The boss uses a variety of attacks, including 'Blizzaton' (heavy Ice magic to one target, may inflict Frostbite), 'Ice Claw' (medium physical Ice damage to one target), 'Boneclaw Slash' (heavy physical Slash damage to one target), 'Chimera’s Wing' (heavy Wind magic to all, lowers Attack for 3 turns), and 'Deadeye Stance' (guarantees the next attack hits).
3. After 'Deadeye Stance', it will always use 'Chimera’s King Wing' (extreme Wind magic to all, significantly lowers Attack for 3 turns).

Strategy:

• Keep your entire party in the back row to reduce incoming damage. Gunners are great here since they deal full damage with Pierce attacks from the back and exploit Leogron's weakness. Mages/Wizards are also good choices due to the Fire weakness.
• Be aware that due to the perpetual bad weather in the dungeon, you'll deal full damage from weaknesses but won't get bonus Turn Icons from exploiting them or landing critical hits.
• Use skills like 'Marakukaja' to further mitigate damage, especially since Leogron's Wind attacks can significantly lower your party's Attack stat.
• If you have 'Dekunda' available, use it to remove the Attack debuffs applied by 'Chimera’s Wing' and 'Chimera’s King Wing'. This will help keep your damage output high and shorten the fight.
• For a new weapon for your Commander, you can use the 'Steal' ability on Leogron to get the 'Crystal Ice Gunbai'.
• Upon defeating Leogron, you'll receive the 'Monster’s Notebook', which is required for its associated quest.
