A Guiding Gift

Learn where to find the Polar Stones needed to complete the 'A Guiding Gift' side quest in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Get the locations and rewards!

Alright, so you've made it to Virga Island and done some of the main story stuff, probably grabbed that Potion of Blight. Now's a great time to explore the village and pick up some side quests! Right outside the inn, near the well, you'll find an older mustari. She's got a request for you: she needs some Polar Stones. Apparently, these are super important for navigating the seas around the village, and she was planning on giving them to her grandchild for their first fishing trip. Unfortunately, she seems to have misplaced them while trying to offer them up to the Dragon God. Classic!

You'll find this quest giver chilling in the village on Virga Island, right by the well in front of the inn.

Polar Stone Locations

Now, you only need one Polar Stone to finish the quest, but if you're feeling ambitious and grab all three, you'll get some pretty sweet extra rewards. The good news is you don't have to venture too far into the Dragon Temple – all three stones are chilling in the first two areas. Just a heads-up, you'll need to defeat the Treebeast Alento first before you can even step foot inside the Dragon Temple.

First Polar Stone Location

Once the Treebeast Alento is down, head into the temple. You'll start in the first area, which is pretty open. Both paths on the left and right eventually meet up on the far side, but for this stone, take the path to the right. Clear out any enemies you run into, then keep heading as far right as you can. You should spot an item in the corner. If it's listed as ???, that's your first Polar Stone!

Second Polar Stone Location

For the second stone, we're heading into the Labyrinthine Path area, the second section of the temple. This part can be a bit of a headache with its maze-like structure, but don't worry, you don't actually need to solve the maze for this stone. As soon as you enter this area, make your way west. Keep going until you see an item sitting on a railing. Go up to it, and yup, it's another Polar Stone.

Third Polar Stone Location

This third stone requires a bit more effort than the first two, and it's also in the Labyrinthine Path area. This place might not look like a maze on the map, but trust me, it is. Only certain stairs will let you progress; if the screen starts to go black, you're heading the wrong way. Your goal is to reach the central part of this section. You'll see an objective marker and some stairs leading to another room – ignore those! Instead, check the western side, near the regular gargoyles. You'll find some pots, and nestled among them is your third Polar Stone.

Once you've got all three stones (or at least one!), head back to the village and return them to the old lady. Quest complete!

A Guiding Gift Rewards

If you decide to just bring back the one required Polar Stone, you'll receive Passionate Wraps and 22,500 Reeves. But if you go the extra mile and collect all three stones, the old lady will also reward you with a Sumptuous Magla Feast and a Divine Elixir. Not too shabby!
