Walkthrough
- 1When you first enter Man-Eater’s Grotto, you will see ledges. Drop down straight ahead to engage enemies if you wish. Juvenile Rockworms tend to stay underground and pop up to ambush you, potentially decreasing your hit rate/evasion or paralyzing you.
- 2Loot the Scrap Metal behind a pillar on the northern end of the first room. Exit to the northwest.
- 3Look past the NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) for Graced Water. Head south. At the top of the hill, find Cushy Clay. There is a ledge to drop off of at the end, but ignore it for now.
- 4Return to where the NPC was and head north. In the next room, loot the Cushy Clay before taking the eastern exit.
- 5In the small eastern room, halfway through, spy a hole in the western wall and crawl through. Loot the chest to find Screwed-Up Mineral. If you have the bond with Neuras, this is the first relic to level him up.
- 6Go back through the hole. Head to the southern end of the room to find a Nocpur (Level 15). Dispatch it and loot the Hero’s Fruit in the southeast corner and the chest with Onyx in the southwest corner.
- 7Double back to the previous floor and take the northern stairs down a level.
- 8To the north, defeat enemies surrounding an item and loot it (Grand Iron).
- 9Return to the previous room and go south slightly to a split. Continue south, looting Magic Incense along the way, then go east to a chest at the dead end containing Aquamarine.
- 10Double back to the split and head west this time, looting the item at the corner (Scrap Metal).
- 11To the far north, defeat enemies surrounding an item and loot it (Peridot).
- 12West will be a crystal that spawns enemies. You can fight them or stun them and destroy the crystal to make them disappear. Loot the Grand Iron in the corner by the crystal.
- 13To the north, there are two paths. Before taking one, look in the bottom right corner for a Gold Beetle.
- 14The eastern path leads to a chest with a Hero’s Leaf of Light. The western path leads to a small area with two chests. The southern chest contains an Amethyst, and the other holds Energy Incense.
- 15In the previous area, head towards the southwestern corner. Beyond an enemy-spawning crystal and a myriad of enemies, you will find an exit. An NPC at the top of the hill mentions a Valmo bounty.
- 16The southern path past the NPC leads to a large enemy, the Chimenza (Level 28). Wait until its back is turned to ambush it, as its overworld attack is large and hard to avoid. It is weak to Wind; avoid Fire and Lightning. If you have the Thief Archetype, you can steal a Beast Fang Katana from it.
- 17The path beyond the Chimenza leads back to a blocked door near the dungeon's beginning.
- 18Before heading to the blocked door, pick up the item in the corner (Scrap Metal).
- 19Return to the NPC you just met. Go north from him, dispatch enemies, and loot the item.
