Alright, let's get this Substory sorted! Substory 29, called 'The Bad Side of Town,' can pop up as early as Chapter 3. Honestly, you might just trip over it while you're busy with something else, like Substory 21. To kick things off, you'll need to head over to Mukurogai.

Now, depending on where you are in the story, the usual gate to Mukurogai might be blocked. If that's the case, don't sweat it. Just zip back down to Fushimi and find the Boatman. He's chilling east of Teradaya. For 500 mon, he'll ferry you over to Mukurogai. Once he drops you off, make your way northwest, then head north past the Mahjong Spot. Keep an eye out for some western stairs leading up to the second floor of the central building in Mukurogai. As soon as you get close to those stairs, the Substory will trigger automatically.

Honestly, this Substory isn't super complex once it starts. Those ruffians in Mukurogai have gotten bold, deciding you're their next target. Luckily, Ryoma's quick reflexes mean their sneak attack won't land. But they're persistent, so you'll have to fight them off. You're up against three Ruffians, and frankly, they're not much tougher than the random thugs you run into daily. They aren't numerous enough to be a real threat, no matter your combat style. However, if you want to make it super easy, switching to the Wild Dancer style will trivialize this fight.
