Learn how to pay off Haruka's 100 ryo debt in Like a Dragon: Ishin! This guide details installments, locations, and the best ways to earn money early on.

Haruka is burdened with a 100 ryo debt that she must pay off to prevent losing her childhood home. Fortunately, the debt can be paid in five installments of 20 ryo each. There is no strict time limit for repayment, but paying it off is necessary for the “Debt Repayment!” trophy/achievement.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When you exit the house, you will receive a letter from a courier, indicating that you can now pay off an installment.
  2. 2
Once you have accumulated the required 20 ryo, travel to the Shrine in Fushimi. Follow the path northeast from the Teradaya to find it.
  3. 3
Locate the Landlord at the Shrine. If you have the 20 ryo, select the top dialogue option to make the payment.
  4. 4
The first time you pay an installment, the Landlord will give you the Genkimusume Kimono. You can give this to Haruka to change her outfit by interacting with the Trade Orders cupboard and selecting the middle option. Additional kimonos can be obtained from the Shinto Priest Shop.
Tips
  • Making Money Early: The most effective ways to earn money early in the game include using the Farming, Cooking, Fishing, and Trade Orders features, available from Chapter 4.
  • Trade Orders: Check the Trade Orders for required meals, fish, or crops. Plant crops on the farm and utilize Virtue Shop upgrades for farming, cooking, and fishing to speed up the process. Purchase fertilizer from the Manure Merchant in Fushimi. Rewards for Trade Orders increase exponentially with repeated success, up to 200% extra.
  • Battle Dungeons: Unlocked in Chapter 5, these can be accessed from the receptionist at the Shinsengumi Barracks. While initial rewards are small, completing them and unlocking harder difficulties can yield significant money and useful items. These are small dungeons with tasks like rescuing hostages or collecting items.
  • Gambling Hall: While not the primary method for earning cash, the Gambling Hall allows you to exchange winnings for valuable materials like Silver, Gold, or Platinum plates, which sell for a good price. This is only recommended if you earn the tags yourself, as purchasing them costs more than selling the materials. It's also useful for certain trophies/achievements.
  • Chopping Logs: In Fushimi, you can chop logs near the Palanquin in the southwest. This tedious mini-game can earn up to 150 mon per log at maximum bond. You can earn approximately 1 ryo for every 67 logs cut.
  • Genkimusume Kimono (first installment payment)
  • Progress towards the “Debt Repayment!” trophy/achievement.
