Master farming in Like a Dragon: Ishin! Learn how to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops, manage your garden, and upgrade your farm using Virtue points.
To begin farming in Like a Dragon: Ishin!, interact with the tool shed located in front of your house, next to the crop patch. This action opens the Farm Management menu.
At the top of the screen, you'll see your Farm Level, which influences garden size, cultivation speed, and harvesting chance. To the left is your Scarecrow, which protects crops from damage. Below these is the garden patch where you'll plant vegetables. The garden size can be upgraded using Virtue points.
The Farm Management menu offers several options:
- Farming Plan: Select this to place crops on your garden patch. Press the action button on an empty space to bring up a menu showing available vegetables and their properties (e.g., Required Space, Cultivation Speed, Expected Harvest).
- Harvest All: Harvests all crops that have completed their growth cycle.
- Scatter Manure: Apply fertilizer to all crops to increase their growth speed. Fertilizer can be obtained from Trade Order rewards, a Manure merchant, and general stores.
- Reset Farming Plan: Removes all crops from the patch, even those still growing. It's generally better to delete crops manually unless you intend to replant entirely.
Crop Placement Details
When placing crops, note their space requirements. For example, Daikon requires 1x2 space, has a Fast cultivation speed, and yields 2 per harvest. Larger crops like Garlic and Tomato require 4x4 and 3x5 spaces, respectively.
After planting, a clock icon appears on the crop. It starts gray, turns red as it fills during cultivation, and finally becomes a green tick when ready for harvest.
