All Bonds in Rakunai

Complete all bonds in Rakunai in like a dragon ishin: Injured Grandma, Palanquin Bearer, and Hanamaru Udon Employee. Earn 2,250 Virtue per bond.

Bond with Injured Grandma

Starting in Chapter 3, you can begin Substory 15 - The Injured Grandma by visiting Teramachi in Rakunai. To advance the bond, reset her dialog by traveling away, for example, by entering and exiting Teradaya. A faster method is to use the Palanquin Bearer service located west of the Injured Grandma, just outside Kurogane Smithing, for 550 mon. This also increases your bond with the Palanquin Bearers.

The Injured Grandma has three errands:

1. Ointment: Found in pots or bought at the General Goods store in Yashikimachi, Fushimi for 300 mon. She gives you 2,500 mon.
2. All-Purpose Medicine: Bought at Tasshado Pharmacy in Fushimi Ichibangai, Fushimi for 2,000 mon. She gives you 2,500 mon (net profit of 500 mon).
3. Yokan: Bought at the General Goods store in Yashikimachi, Fushimi for 500 mon. She gives you 1,000 mon (net profit of 500 mon).

Delivering these items increases your bond substantially. Maxing this bond earns 2,250 Virtue. Using Palanquin services until your bond is around 70% will reveal information about bandit attacks.

Bond with Palanquin Bearer

Palanquin Bearers can be found in Fushimi (South Yashikimachi), Rakunai (North Umekojicho, east of Kurogane Smithing), and Rakugai (eastern end of Karasuma Street) starting in Chapter 3. Talking to them and paying 550 mon to fast travel to another unlocked Palanquin Bearer site increases your bond. This service is useful for quickly traveling between areas, such as from Rakunai to Fushimi to reset the Injured Grandma's dialog.

At around 70% bond, they will mention bandit attacks. The next time you use their service, you will be ambushed by five bandits. After defeating them, a new fast travel spot in Sannocho, Rakugai will open, and you will earn 2,250 Virtue.

Bond with Hanamaru Udon Employee

To increase your bond with the Hanamaru Udon Employee, simply buy udon from them at the Hanamaru Udon shop on the western end of East Shijo Street in Rakunai. Each purchase increases your bond. Buying udon can also heal you and contribute towards the achievement 'I'll Have One of Everything'.

At 60% bond, the employee will mention a special dish. At around 80% bond, they will unlock the Beef Udon meal for 500 mon. Unlocking this meal maxes out your bond and earns you 2,250 Virtue.
