Walkthrough

    As you approach the excavation site from the southwest, find the first Spartan Core on the cliff edge overlooking the site. Use AI Scan if you can't see it.

    Locate the second Spartan Core in a small structure on the southeastern side of the excavation site.

    A short distance from the conservatory, find the Mjolnir Armor Locker which rewards a Banished Nameplate.

    Continue into the heart of the machine to find the Banished audio log opposite the laser controls.

    You will need to expose the cooling pylons attached to two power regulators on the machine outside.

    When the cutscene ends, a new wave of Banished will attack. Watch out for Jackals with Stalker Rifles on the cliffs around the machine, identifiable by the beam of light they shine when aiming.

    Interact with one of the terminals highlighted by an AI Scan to disable a regulator. This will trigger another wave of enemies.

    Destroy the exposed cooling pylon by shooting it until it explodes.

    Repeat steps 13 and 14 for the second regulator terminal. Clear the area before interacting with each terminal.

    Once both regulators are disabled and their cooling pylons destroyed, return to the laser control room and interact with the terminal.

    Use a gravity lift to access the interior of the machine again.

    As you interact with the terminal, you will be interrupted by a boss fight with an Elite Brute named Bassus.

Boss Fight: Bassus

Bassus is a relentless Brute with high melee damage and tough armor. Create space between yourself and Bassus. Many weapons will be ineffective against his armor.

  • Prioritize taking out Jackals with Stalker Rifles on the cliffs.
