Alright, so you've made it to the House of Reckoning and the final boss: Escharum. Don't sweat it, I'll walk you through this. It's broken down into two main phases, and the first one is definitely the easier of the two.

Phase 1: Cannon Barrage & Relay Destruction

Initially, Escharum is gonna be blasting you from a distance with a big ol' cannon. Your main goal here isn't just to shoot him, but to destroy a series of relays. These relays power up Escharum's shield and the torture machine holding Echo 216. You'll know it's time to hit the relays when Escharum gets an energy shield – you'll see a shield bar pop up, and he'll be surrounded by a red energy sphere. Plus, either Weapon or Chief will usually call it out. These relays look just like the cooling pylons you've dealt with before. Just give 'em a few shots to take 'em down, which will drop Escharum's shield so you can actually damage him directly again. While you're doing this, try not to stay in one spot for too long, though you might have to hunker down for the relays themselves. After that, just keep kiting him around the arena, grabbing weapons and grenades from the racks to chip away at his health.

You'll need to destroy a total of four relays. They pop up after you deplete his health to about 90%, 75%, 50%, and 40%. Keep track of those percentages!

Phase 2: Hammer Time

Once you've zapped the fourth relay, Escharum switches gears. He'll ditch the cannon and come at you with his modified hammer/axe, similar to the Gravity Hammer. This thing hits HARD, and he moves way faster now, making him a real threat up close. This is where you need to be smart. Use those blast coils in the arena to drop his health fast, and definitely use your Grappleshot to create distance and escape his melee range. Don't forget your grenades either; toss 'em as you're running away. The key here is balancing your damage output with your positioning. Getting caught by his melee attack is the last thing you want. Keep moving, keep firing, and you'll take him down.
