Understand halo infinite ranks, tiers, and ranked queues. Learn how kills, deaths, assists, and objectives impact your rank.
Ranks and Tiers Overview:
- Bronze: Tiers I, II, III, IV, V, VI
- Silver: Tiers I, II, III, IV, V, VI
- Gold: Tiers I, II, III, IV, V, VI
- Platinum: Tiers I, II, III, IV, V, VI
- Diamond: Tiers I, II, III, IV, V, VI
- Onyx: No Tiers
After playing your first 10 ranked games, you will receive your initial rank. This rank is based on your average performance during those games. While it's theoretically possible to achieve a high rank like Platinum or Diamond early on, new players are more likely to be placed between Bronze and Gold.
Ranked Queues:
Within the Ranked Arena menu, you can select your Ranked Queue preference. This determines your team composition: 'Open' (default) means you'll always play in a four-person team, facing players across different platforms (PC and console). Choosing 'Solo/Duo' allows you to specify playing with others using keyboard/mouse or controllers. If you use a controller on PC in Solo/Duo mode, you will be queued with controller users on consoles.
How to Increase Your Rank:
Your rank progress is primarily influenced by three categories shown on the scoreboard: Kills, Deaths, and Assists. You typically earn 100 points per kill and 50 points per assist. However, a high number of deaths can negatively impact your score. Therefore, it's crucial to play strategically, securing kills while minimizing your own deaths.
Beyond combat stats, contributing to your team's victory in specific game modes significantly boosts your score. For instance, in Oddball, picking up the ball grants 10 points, and holding it for 5-second intervals earns 50 points. Focusing on objectives can increase your score even without many kills, making you valuable to the team.
Teamwork is essential. Sticking with your team and communicating effectively is vital, especially in modes like Strongholds and Capture the Flag, which require a balance of offensive and defensive play. Pay attention to match overview details for a summary of your contributions.
As you climb the ranks in Ranked Arena, communication and cooperation become more important, with teammates expecting greater teamwork.
Ranked Arena Game Modes:
Ranked Arena features four primary game modes: Strongholds, Oddball, Slayer, and Capture the Flag. These modes are similar to their Quick Play counterparts, but with key differences: friendly fire is enabled, the radar (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) is disabled, you start each round with only the BR75 precision rifle, and you will generally face more skilled opponents.
Since you begin with only one weapon, locating weapon spawns to acquire a secondary weapon quickly is important for accessing more powerful options and having a backup during reloads.
Ranked Strongholds:
- Points to Win: 250
- Time Limit: No Time Limit
- Special Conditions: Start with BR75 precision rifle, friendly fire on, no radar
Ranked Strongholds involves capturing and holding three strongholds, requiring players to move between them.
