Alright, let's dive into Chapter 9, "Emmeryn." This chapter throws a bit of a curveball with sand terrain, which is going to slow your units down, but don't worry, we'll navigate it. The good news is that once you reach the courtyard, movement goes back to normal.

There are a few forts scattered around on your way to the courtyard. Make sure to use them to your advantage! The best way to tackle this map is to keep your units grouped up and paired off for extra protection. Watch out for reinforcements popping up behind you near where you start – getting caught between two fronts is a bad situation to be in.

Remember to always keep an eye on where the enemy units can move. You'll have an NPC named Libra joining you; he's a War Monk and will join automatically when Chrom talks to him. He's pretty self-sufficient and will actually move towards Chrom himself, so you don't need to go out of your way to recruit him. Just let him do his thing for a bit.

Now, for Tharja, the Dark Mage. You'll also need Chrom to talk to her to recruit her. Just be super careful not to attack her! She actually speaks up at the beginning of the enemy's first turn, so make a mental note of her position. You don't want to accidentally take her out before she can join your team.

After this map, you'll be presented with a choice. It's mostly for flavor and doesn't actually change the outcome of the story, so pick whichever feels right to you.

Boss

The boss for this chapter is Campari, a General at Level 1. He doesn't move, so you can plan your approach. He's equipped with a Short Spear and a Dracoshield.
