How to Pair Up:

It's pretty straightforward! When you're moving one of your characters on the map, just position them right next to another character you want them to team up with. Then, select the 'Pair Up' option from the menu. The character you just moved will then merge with the other, and they'll move and fight as one unit from then on.

What Happens When You Pair Up:

• The Support Unit: The character who was already on the map (the one you moved next to) becomes the 'support unit'. They're basically tucked away safely inside the main unit, meaning they won't be targeted by enemies. However, they also can't act on their own while in this state.
• The Main Unit: The character you moved becomes the 'main unit'. They get a significant boost to their stats, which you can see on their status screen. The better their relationship (their Support level), the bigger the stat boost they'll receive!
• Combat Benefits: When this paired-up unit engages an enemy, the main unit gets all the benefits as if they were fighting right next to their support partner. This is huge because it means they can take advantage of abilities like Dual Strike and Dual Guard.

Why Use Pair Up?

Pairing up is a fantastic way to make your characters stronger and make your army move more efficiently. Imagine instead of moving 10 individual units across the map, you only have to move 5 paired-up units. It really speeds things up!

When to Pair Up (and When Not To):

The decision to pair up really depends on the situation. If you're feeling confident and there aren't too many enemies around, pairing up can make your units strong enough to handle them easily. For example, if there are only 5 enemies, 5 strong paired-up units might be perfect.

However, if you're facing a massive swarm of enemies trying to surround you, it might be smarter to keep your units separated. 10 weaker, individual units can sometimes form a better defensive line than 5 stronger, paired-up ones.
