Alright, so you've just finished the intro and are officially unleashed on Hope County. It can feel a little overwhelming at first, but don't sweat it! I've got some solid tips that'll make your journey way smoother. Stick with these, and you'll be a seasoned Montana survivalist in no time.

Rule #1: Scour every inch and grab everything!

Seriously, don't leave any backpack, ammo crate, or random drawer unsearched. Everything you find – ammo, cash, crafting supplies – is useful. You'll thank yourself later when you're low on bullets or need to craft something important.

Keep an eye on your Challenges.

You earn Perk points, which are super important for unlocking new abilities, by completing challenges and finding Perk Magazines. The game tracks almost everything you do as a challenge, so make it a habit to pop into that screen. See what you're close to finishing and focus your efforts there – it's a fast track to getting stronger.

Save up for your first big Perk purchase.

Most Perks are fair game once you have enough points, but try to hoard 8 points for your initial unlock. The Additional Holster perk from the Prepper tree is a game-changer. It lets you carry a heavy weapon alongside your usual loadout, giving you way more tactical options. Plus, it pairs nicely with the Crossbow for those stealthy moments.

Other game-changing Perks to consider:

• Parachute/Wingsuit (Renegade tree): Essential for getting around Hope County quickly and safely.

Playing co-op with a friend is not only fun but has real benefits. While only the host's missions progress, you'll keep all the ammo, cash, and Perk points you earn. It's a fantastic way to stock up on resources without advancing your own game, or to get extra help if you're stuck on a tough spot.

Don't forget your Companions!

These Specialists are invaluable. Always have one with you to cover your weaknesses. If you're going for stealth and things go sideways, having a combat-focused companion can save your bacon. They really help balance the fight.

Heads up, Trophy/Achievement hunters!

While the achievements in Far Cry 5 aren't brutal, you can save yourself some grinding. There's one requiring you to spend $50,000 on vehicles. That's a hefty sum, so start squirreling away cash early if you're aiming for 100% completion. It'll make that particular goal much less painful later on.

Master your weapon's firing modes.

This is something the game doesn't explicitly teach you. When you have your weapon wheel open, press [Square/X] to cycle between single shot, burst fire, and full auto.
