Guide to the finale of Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake. Learn how to escape the Talontear Tunnel, visit Alefgard, and receive the title of Erdrick.

You will be expelled from the bottom floor of the Talontear Tunnel. All spells are sealed, so you must walk out. Fortunately, all monsters have vanished from the world. Make your way out of the dungeon.

You can try jumping back into the pit, but it will just spit you out again.

Your progress will be halted on Basement 2, and the path to Basement 3 will disappear. The Talontear Tunnel will then resemble the Cave of Erdrick from Dragon Quest 1. Continue making your way out of the dungeon until you reach the overworld.

Upon returning to the overworld, the world will shake, and your party will notice that the Pit of Giaga hole has closed and sunlight has returned. There are no more monsters on the overworld, and all poisonous swamp tiles have disappeared. Zoma's Citadel has also been razed to the ground.

If you try casting Zoom, you will notice that the only places you can Zoom to are those in Alefgard. You cannot return to your mother and friends.

Your current destination is Tantegel, but you can visit other locations in Alefgard to hear what the people have to say.

Make your way to Tantegel Castle and go to the northeast end. Exit through the door and head south along the castle's side. Eventually, you will find stairs leading down to a basement. Speak with the man behind the jail cell. You can choose to give him the Sunstone by selecting "Yes" or refuse by selecting "No." Your choice does not matter and is not required to finish the game.

Return to the castle and go up the Grand Staircase to the Throne Room. Speak with the King, and he will confer the Title of Erdrick upon you.

If you haven't figured it out by now, Dragon Quest 3 is a prequel to Dragon Quest 1, in which you take on the role of the legendary hero later known as Erdrick. After the celebration, your character disappears into the wilderness, leaving behind the legendary Sword, Armour, Shield, and Amulet.

IMPORTANT: Let the credits play through. You will be prompted to save your adventure. Make sure to press the "A Button" on "Yes" to save to one of the three files. If you accidentally press "B," the file will not save, and you will have to redo the Zoma Battle. The Save File will have "(Erdrick)" added beside your character's name. Loading this file will place you before the final battle with Zoma, and you will be able to access the Post-Game dungeon.
