Alright, so you've made it to Cantlin! It's a bit of a somber place, unlike the Cantlin you might remember from DQ1. Nobody's really working here, which is a bummer, but hey, that means there are still some hidden goodies lying around if you know where to look. There's a Monster Arena in the east, and you'll find Galen chilling in the Inn. A scientist's trying to build a Golem to protect the town, which is pretty neat. Just remember, you'll need the Sunstone, Staff of Rain, and the Sacred Amulet before you can head to the Sanctum on that southeast island.

Walkthrough:

1. First things first, head in from the northern entrance. Go west until you reach the northwestern part of the map. Check the pots in the damaged building there – you'll snag Mini Medal #90 and 67 gold.
2. Now, make your way south and duck into the Inn. Head to the northeast room and give the cabinet a good search. You'll find a Leather Kilt.
3. Time to explore! Exit the Inn and find the building southwest of it. Head upstairs, and in the room on the right, search the cabinet and drawer. You'll pick up a Party Dress and Training Togs.
4. In the west room of that same building, check the table on the right wall for the Broken Blade.
5. Next up, in the room after that, check the bookshelves. Search them from left to right to find these books:
   • Being a Better Person (Good Egg)
   • Primm's Primer (Aristocrat)
   • The Eureka Moment (Genius)
   • The Champion's Guide (Paragon)
   • Fail is a Four-Letter Word (Sore Loser)
6. Head back downstairs and exit the building to the south. Right outside, you'll see the Friendly Monster Minidemon (Balam). If you have a Fading Jenny, you can try to capture it!
7. Enter the incomplete building just south of where you found the Minidemon. Search the center of the building for a Prayer Ring.
8. Exit that building and check the barrel along its southern wall – you'll find an Unsealant.
9. Now, make your way to the southeast corner of the city. Search the pot outside the destroyed building for a Seed of Defence.
10. Enter that destroyed building and search the area above the giant flame. You'll find Oomph Powder.
