Learn how to defeat the powerful Witch Marjoly and her two Prophets in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. This guide details preparation and strategy for this challenging boss fight.

This section covers the boss fight against the Lv. 2500 Witch Marjoly, who is accompanied by two Lv. 1800 Prophets.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Marjoly: Lv. 2500 Witch. All stats higher than Priere. Possesses powerful spells like Dark Conjuration and Tera Ice. High counter rate.
• Prophets: Lv. 1800. Provide support to Marjoly.

Preparation:

• Level Priere up by 30-40 levels.
• Level up the Arcadia item in the Item World ten times (ten floors).
• Equip Priere with the Arcadia and ideally one or two Nirvana items. Use the best available equipment for other characters.

Strategy:

1. Initial Assault: Focus on defeating the two Prophets first. Use Priere's Dragon's Rage and have Laharl, Etna, and other characters attack them.
2. Exploit SP: Marjoly constantly casts spells, depleting her SP. Priere's Omega Heal costs relatively little SP and can heal for around 70,000 HP per turn, ensuring Priere doesn't run out of SP.
3. Manage HP: Marjoly's spells, like Tera Ice, can deal 1000-2000 damage. Keep Priere's HP around 150,000. If HP is above 100,000, you can risk using Dragon's Rage.
4. Countering: Both Priere and Marjoly have high counter rates, leading to them trading hits.
5. Finishing Blow: Once Marjoly's SP is depleted, build Priere's HP to an average of 210,000 and then attack Marjoly to defeat her.

After defeating Marjoly, you will unlock her as a playable character. The next area to unlock is Baal Castle after clearing Prinny Land, Cave of Ordeal, Alternate Netherworld, and Beauty Castle.
