Master the toughest Disgaea: Hour of Darkness enemies! Get strategies for Zombie King, Tiamat, Nebiros, and Nightmare. Level recommendations and tips included.

Alright, let's talk about this particular enemy lineup in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. This is the 78th battle, and it's a doozy if you're not prepared. The main crew you'll face initially are four Nebiroses and six Nightmares. If you've been following along and have Laharl around Level 700, with the rest of your party in the 300-400 range, you should handle them okay. The key here is that they don't have any equipment, so if your gear is decent, you've got a solid advantage even if they're a bit higher level.

The real challenge, in my opinion, is the Tiamat that shows up later. If you managed to unlock Priere and have her on your team, this fight becomes much easier. If not, you'll need to throw everything you've got at her. Seriously, if you can steal her weapon or armor, do it – it'll make a huge difference. Assuming your team survived the initial wave, taking down the Tiamat shouldn't be too much of a struggle.

After dealing with the Tiamat, you've still got the Lv. 1000 Zombie King chilling way off in the distance. Getting to him is tricky and requires some serious throwing power. You'll need at least two characters with a throw stat of 6. One character with a throw of 6 needs to pick up another character with a throw of 6, who is then lifting the character(s) who will actually attack the Zombie King. Again, Priere makes this a breeze, but remember she can't lift anyone since she's a monster. If you're using Laharl or others, you should still be able to manage it. The Zombie King has surprisingly low DEF, but his Nirvana weapon is the main thing to watch out for. If you've collected Nirvanas from the Item World, you might not care, but if not, try to snag it. Honestly, even though he's 300 levels higher than the Tiamat, the Zombie King isn't as threatening. Just take him down and claim your prize: a Level 39 fist weapon called God's Hand. It's… okay, I guess. If you haven't already, you should definitely finish the Alternate Netherworld or start the Beauty Castle next.

Important Note on Movement: For this battle, you'll need two characters with a throw of 6. Nippon Ichi decided to be clever and put platforms separated by twelve spaces, so you'll need that throw range to bridge the gap. I used a Rogue and Gordon for this, but make sure they don't leave the base panel until all the initial enemies (except the Zombie King) are dealt with.
