Walkthrough
- 1Disable the camera near the Fountain of Wisdom.
- 2Use the code 0022 to open the door.
- 3Gunther will contact you; he is very close.
- 4Open the crate to find a FIRE EXTINGUISHER and take it.
- 5Climb the ladder up.
- 6On this level, find the Switch and gain 150 SP for discovering a secret passage in the Cathedral.
- 7On the other side, you'll find sturdy doors with powerful locks and two crates containing FLARE DARTS and DARTS.
- 8If you want to return, the nearby lamp can be used to open the panel.
- 9Return to the room with the Ambrosia barrels and continue until you find the large room, the Fountain of Wisdom.
- 10Gunther will approach you as soon as you have line of sight. He will see through your Cloak.
- 11You can go around him and fire an explosive at him before he initiates dialogue.
- 12You have the option of using or not using Gunther's killphrase, 'Laputan Machine', which JC learned from Jaime in Paris. This will destroy Gunther.
- 13If you have the Aggressive Defense Augmentation, you can use it to stop the stream of fire he unleashes.
- 14If Gunther reaches you for dialogue, he will set you on fire after the cutscene. Fire Extinguishers are important here. Energy Shield and Aggressive Defense System can reduce or stop the effects.
- 15Several ways to deal with Gunther: Fire a Rocket before the conversation, line the passage with LAMs and escape, or reach the ladder and snipe him from above.
- 16Gunther will not Cloak but will run when near death. Killing him is not necessary; rendering him Unconscious is possible.

- 24Leave the building and sneak past resistance to the Old Well to the Northeast.
- 25Dive in and follow it to the bridge.
- 26A crate containing a LOCKPICK can be found on the way.
- 27Exit on the North side.
- 28You will receive Infolink messages on the way to the Metro station.
- 29A crate containing BALLISTIC ARMOR is near the Metro entrance.
Tips
- The killphrase 'Laputan Machine' is a reference to Gulliver's Travels.
- If you knock out Gunther, you can loot his body for a COMBAT KNIFE, FLAMETHROWER, and ASSAULT RIFLE.
- The prototype line regarding nano-augmentation may be a plot hole; JC and Paul were nano-augmented due to a lack of H type epsilon immunoglobin proteins, which normally causes adverse reactions (Gray Death). The coincidence of Page also having this mutation is noted.
