Follow this Destiny walkthrough for the Scourge of Winter mission. Learn how to defeat Kell's Guard, navigate the Cinders, and take down the Ultra Fallen Captain, Draksis.
Walkthrough
- 1Make your way to the Ember Caves. The Fallen hideout is to your left; use platforms to ascend. Defeat the Fallen and enter the cave at the back to reach Winter's Lair.
- 2In Winter's Lair, clear out the initial Fallen. Face the Kell's Guard ahead (two use Shock Blades, one uses an Assault Rifle). Use Grenades or Super Abilities against melee attackers, or a Hand Cannon or Shotgun.
- 3Proceed through the cave to The Cinders. Your objective is to get on the Ketch Ship. Use a Sniper Rifle or Scout Rifle from a high vantage point to pick off weaker Fallen below.
- 4Take out the Servitor and Captain in the bottom area, using structures for cover.
- 5Once on the Ketch Ship, be prepared for close-quarters combat at the entrance with Dreg, Vandals, and a Captain. Prioritize the Captain, then engage the others.
- 6Navigate the halls inside the ship. At the end, open the door and prepare to fight more Kell's Guard and a Servitor. Defeat the Servitor first.
- 7Proceed through the next door to face Draksis.
- 8Draksis is an Ultra Fallen Captain who teleports and shoots. He is vulnerable to headshots. Kell's Guard, Vandals, and Dregs will assist him.
- 9Use the walls on the bottom level for cover against the lesser Fallen. Use Heavy Weapons and Super Abilities against them. Aim regular shots at Draksis's head for Precision Damage.
- 10With Draksis defeated, take the Strange Trinket back to the Cryptarch at the Tower.
Tips
- Use Grenades or Super Abilities to quickly dispatch melee-attacking Kell's Guard.
- A Hand Cannon or Shotgun is effective against the Kell's Guard.
- Utilize Sniper Rifles or Scout Rifles from elevated positions to pick off weaker Fallen in The Cinders.
- Prioritize eliminating the Captain when facing Dreg, Vandals, and a Captain at the Ketch Ship entrance.
- When facing Draksis and his reinforcements, use the lower level walls for cover against lesser Fallen.
- Aim regular shots at Draksis's head for maximum Precision Damage due to his high health and lack of a shield.
- Conserve Super Abilities and Grenades for Draksis if possible, avoiding unnecessary use earlier in the mission.
