The Sword of Crota

From the start, head to the Hellmouth and locate the Swarm Prince, a Major Knight accompanied by Acolytes. Take cover from his boomer attacks while you defeat the lesser Hive. Use Heavy Weapons and your Super Ability to defeat him.

After defeating the Swarm Prince, proceed through the Hellmouth and enter the Hive compound. Deal with the three Knights lobbing explosive shots, using the available cover.

Descend into the Gatehouse, encountering Knights and Acolytes. In the final room, you'll face Thrall, Cursed Thrall, Acolytes, and Wizards. Take the high ground and use grenades for the rushing Thrall. Use an Assault Rifle for Acolytes and a Heavy Weapon for the Wizard, prioritizing the Wizard if possible.

Clear out the Thrall and Cursed Thrall to claim the Sword of Crota.

The Sword of Crota is a powerful weapon with its own Super Ability. Use R1/Right Bumper for quick attacks and R2/Right Trigger for heavy attacks. You can combo three quick strikes or two quick strikes followed by a heavy. The Super Ability can be activated during any combo.

A wave of Thrall and Acolytes will attack to help you get acclimated to the sword.

After the initial wave, Prince Merok, a Major Knight wielding a big sword, will appear. Use the Sword of Crota's Super Ability on him and defeat the lesser Hive enemies to become Super Charged again.

You must defeat three princes to take back the Sword. Be cautious when close to them. You can jump and smash down with the Sword.

When you defeat Merok, Dakoor, the Yul Prince, will emerge with Acolytes. Defeat Dakoor.

After Dakoor is defeated, Garok will emerge with Thrall and Acolytes. Use quick combinations and hit-and-run tactics against Garok.

Once you have defeated all three princes, collect the Blade Shards.

Return the Blade Shards to your Vanguard Mentor back at the Tower to receive an Armor Upgrade.
