Explore destiny The Crucible maps: Anomaly, Asylum, Bastion, Blind Watch, and Burning Shrine. Learn weapon loadouts and strategies for each.

Anomaly

Anomaly is a fairly small and somewhat symmetrical map located on a research base on the Moon. It features an inner and outer ring for combat. The inner ring is near the central artifact, while the outer ring includes caves and a loading dock area. Tight corridors and passages connect the caves to the docking area, with fewer connections to the inner ring. Fighting in the open center is possible, but sticking to the corridors is recommended for close-range weapons. Mid-range weapons are useful for the docking area, but Sniper Rifles are not favored. Melee combat and Shotguns are effective due to the frequent corner encounters. Auto Rifles are good for transitioning between the inner and outer rings. Rocket Launchers are recommended for Heavy Weapons due to narrow paths. Use the Motion Tracker, but be aware it's difficult in the inner ring.

Asylum

Asylum is set in the remnants of an old city on Venus, featuring overgrown streets and buildings for a mix of urban combat. Use buildings as cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) and streets to transition between them. Most structures are ruined with multiple entry points. A spot behind a large water container offers a decent sniping position down the main way, but leaves you exposed. To make your pings on the Motion Tracker more faint, crouch on upper levels when hiding. Pay attention to the Motion Tracker and check hallways transitioning into the street, as they are ripe for combat. Camping in buildings is risky unless in team modes, as it leaves you open to area-of-effect weapons like Rocket Launchers or Super Abilities. Keep moving between buildings and constantly crouch behind small walls to disorient opponents.

Bastion

Bastion is located on Mars and features structures from the Cabal and Vex. Travel by Sparrow is recommended unless you can acquire a Pike or Interceptor. The roads form a figure eight with buildings in between, connected by a bridge vulnerable to Sniper fire. Buildings have turrets on the street side to counter vehicles, but are exposed from within. There is a slight elevation change in the middle and more gradual increases along the edges. This map is good for Snipers, with numerous spots among rocks and buildings to hide and crouch. Aiming down the middle offers many targets. For Pike and Interceptor users, stick to the outside roads and aim inward to avoid turrets. Fighting in buildings is ideal for Fusion Rifles and Shotguns, allowing for crafty maneuvering. The Motion Tracker can be deceptive here, so be cautious.

Blind Watch

Blind Watch is set in a former human city on Mars, featuring a hydroponics and water processing facility. One half of the map is designed for close-quarters combat with tightly woven infrastructure, while the other half opens into a multi-tiered area. A large, slowly spinning turbine creates gaps for entry and exit. Tanks outside provide cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) and elevation for overlooking opponents near the building. An overhang in the back of the building has an open window for quick access, alongside the door. A combination of short-range and long-range weapons, like a Hand Cannon and Sniper Rifle or an Auto Rifle and Fusion Rifle, works well for transition areas. The map offers many avenues of attack; explore different entry and exit points to surprise enemies. The Motion Tracker is generally reliable, unless an enemy is directly above you. Different elevations can cause confusion, so rely on sight or cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) in those situations.

Burning Shrine

Burning Shrine is a high-tech, Vex-like structure with hallways and pathways designed in that style. In the center, rotating barriers allow passage between rooms. Both sides are roughly symmetrical with tight pathways leading to larger rooms. Avoid long-range weapons; equip a Shotgun, Auto Rifle, or Fusion Rifle for easier kills. Use the raised platforms.
