Complete Crotas End Raid in destiny. Learn Hard Mode differences, Abyss mechanics, and Bridge strategies. Fireteam: 1-6 Players, Level 30 (Normal), Level 33 (Hard).

Location: Ocean of Storms, Moon

Fireteam: 1-6 Players

Normal Mode: Level 30

Hard Mode: Level 33

Hard Mode Differences: All enemies are Level 33, you may not revive if killed, Primary Weapons may drop at all major sections, and enemies take less flinch damage.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Hellmouth: After forming your Fireteam and selecting the Crota’s End Raid, you will appear on the farside of the Hellmouth. Stand on the circular plate on the ground to form a bridge over the pit. Once formed, the team may run out to the end of the bridge and leap down into The Abyss.
  2. 2
The Abyss: Navigate this dark area using the light from lamps. Thrall and Cursed Thrall hide in the darkness and will swarm the Fireteam. Stepping into the darkness applies the “Weight of Darkness” debuff, which slows movement and disables double jump at 10 stacks. Standing in lamp light slowly removes the debuff. Some lamps are guarded by Major Knights. Holes in the ground and rocks/pillars are obstacles.
  3. 3
Chests in The Abyss: From the starting area, doors on the left-side wall can contain the chest. Look left of the 5th lamp, left of the hill toward the 6th lamp, between lamps 8 and 9, and between lamps 13 and 14. The first three doors are recommended for easier access.
  4. 4
Conquering The Abyss: Move as a team to the third lamp to gain about 5 stacks of Weight of Darkness. Progress to lamp 4, then continue to lamps 5 and 6 (up a hill for a vantage point). Proceed to lamps 7 and 8. Kill the Knight that appears towards lamp 9. Continue past the Knight near the second hill. Reach the final lamp and stand on the circular plate to trigger the bridge formation, defeating Ogres that spawn. Use smaller rocks near the final lamp to avoid Thrall and defeat Acolytes and Knights. Run across the formed bridge into the light leading to The Bridge encounter.
  5. 5
The Bridge: This area has two sides connected by a bridge. Each side has a Bridge Plate and two Annihilator Totems. Standing on a Bridge Plate starts forming the bridge; one person must remain on the plate to keep it active.

Hard Mode Differences (The Abyss): Chest is only available once, regardless of mode. Ogres, Cursed Thralls, and Knights are Majors. Oversoul Edict may drop for this section.

Hard Mode Differences (The Bridge): Abyss Defiant is now a possible Reward.

Recommendations:

  • Weapons: Anything with Firefly Perk (Fatebringer, Icebreaker). For The Bridge, Sniper Rifles (Icebreaker) and Solar Rocket Launchers (Gjallarhorn) are handy. Vision of Confluence is good for primary.
  • Hunter: Bladedancer with Vanish, Escape Artist, and Stalker for invisibility in The Abyss. Exotic Gauntlets “Don’t Touch Me” complement well. For The Bridge, use Gunslinger and Triple Jump for maneuverability; Golden Gun is useful for Swordbearers.
  • Titan: Defender with Blessing of Light, Illuminated, and Suppressor Grenade for The Abyss. Helm of Saint-14 is useful. For The Bridge, guard the bridge and go over last due to survivability.
  • Warlock: Sunsinger with Fireborn, Gift of the Sun, and Brimstone for The Abyss. “Sunbreakers” Gauntlets work well for leaving Solar Grenades. For The Bridge, Sunsinger with Fireborn is great in case of death.
