The Tower

The Tower serves as a central hub in destiny, housing numerous vendors and services essential for your Guardian's progression.

Gunsmith

Banshee-44, the Gunsmith, sells weapons, sometimes of Rare quality. His most valuable offerings are ammo synthesis items, which replenish ammo for specific weapon types.

Postmaster

Kadi 55-30 is the Postmaster. This NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) will deliver messages, including leads on Bounties, returning loot that falls off ledges during missions, and items from promotional codes like Emblems.

Cryptarch

Master Rahool, an Awoken, is the Cryptarch. He decodes engrams for Guardians and exchanges artifacts for Glimmer, usually for 200 Glimmer. Engrams can decode into weapons or armor, with a chance of yielding Motes of Light or Strange Coins. Higher Cryptarch Reputation increases the chance of better decodes. Each rank-up beyond a certain point sends a Legendary Package to the Postmaster containing engrams, Motes of Light, Glimmer, and other items.

Special Orders

Tess Everis, an Awoken, deals in special items, including most promotional code items like Shaders and Emblems.

Bounty Tracker

Xander 99-40, a robot, is the Bounty Tracker. He posts Bounty Missions for Guardians to complete, each returning specific amounts of Experience and Reputation for either the Vanguard or Crucible. Completing enough Bounties may unlock an Exotic Bounty.

Crucible Quartermaster

Arcite 99-40 sells vehicles for use in the Crucible. He also accepts 50 of any found resource in exchange for Glimmer and Crucible Marks, and sells numerous weapons.

Crucible Handler

Lord Shaxx, a veteran, sells Legendary Armor in exchange for Crucible Marks.

Vanguard Representatives

Cayde-6 is the Hunter Vanguard, selling Hunter armor, Emblems, and Vanguard Armor. Commander Zavala is the Titan Vanguard, selling Titan armor, Emblems, and Vanguard Armor. Ikora Rey is the Warlock Vanguard, selling Warlock armor, Emblems, and Vanguard Armor.

Xur, Agent of the Nine

This special vendor appears weekly from Friday until Sunday, for a 48-hour period. Xur sells Exotic Weapons, Exotic Armor, and consumables in exchange for Strange Coins and Motes of Light. His location changes weekly.

Shipwright

Amanda Holiday sells Spaceships and Vehicles in exchange for Glimmer.

Vanguard Quartermaster

Roni 55-30 trades Legendary Weapons and Armor for Vanguard Marks. Rare Sparrows can also be purchased, or a resource exchange can be done for Glimmer and Vanguard Marks.

Factions

Three main factions operate outside the Vanguard and Crucible: Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, and New Monarchy. To earn Reputation with a faction, you must wear their cloak. Vendors for each faction sell their specific Armor, Weapons, and Emblems.

• Dead Orbit: Headed by Arach Jalaal.
• Future War Cult: Headed by Lakshmi-2.
• New Monarchy: Headed by Executor Hideo.

Earning Reputation with the Vanguard comes from Bounties, Patrol missions, and Strikes. Crucible Bounties and Crucible combat earn Crucible Reputation. Higher Faction Ranks allow you to purchase new Armor/Weapons using Vanguard Marks or Crucible Marks. Faction gear offers specific Stat Bonuses: Dead Orbit provides Discipline/Strength, Future War Cult provides Intellect/Discipline, and New Monarchy provides Intellect/Discipline.

Guardian Outfitter

Eva Levante sells Emblems and Shaders for Guardian customization.

Voice of the Traveler

The Speaker, representative of the Traveler, sells Legendary Armor and Emblems in exchange for Motes of Light.
