Viper Manor Boss Battle: Marcy

Learn how to defeat Marcy in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. This guide covers her Blue Innate attacks, weaknesses, and strategies for using Red Elements.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Innate: Blue
• Weakness: Red Elements

Phases:

1. Early Phase: Marcy uses standard punches and kicks. This is a good time to fill the Field Effect with low-level Red Elements and keep your party's HP topped up. Tablets are Red Elements and can help with this.
2. Late Phase: Marcy's HP drops, and she becomes more aggressive. She'll use Cat’s Cradle for Blue physical damage and Blue Element spells like Ice Blast and Ice Lance. Ice Blast can inflict the Frozen status, making your character immobile. Use a Medicine Element to cure Frozen.

Strategy:

• Don't bring Kid, as she takes 50% more damage from Marcy's Blue Elements.
• Give your Red Elements to characters like Guile, Nikki, Leena, or Serge.
• Unload your strongest Red Elements, such as Magma Bomb and Fire Ball, during Marcy's late phase.
• Consider placing your strongest Elements on higher levels (e.g., Level 4) before the fight to increase their power.
• For healing, use Recover All if you obtained it from the Dragon Feeding game, or Revive from the Barracks in emergencies.

After the Boss Battle:

After defeating Marcy, she'll retreat. The Prophet of Time will guide you. Before leaving the library, use the same switch Marcy used to lower a ladder. Climb it to find a chest containing the Turn White Element.

In the Audience Chamber, find a secret button behind the second-to-last pillar on the left, as the Prophet suggested. This will trigger a platform to drop, scaring the guards. These guards are much easier to defeat than Marcy. Once they're dealt with, inspect the throne on the new platform to ride it up. Continue forward to the next area, where another boss battle awaits.
