How to Recruit Pierre

Alright, so you want to get Pierre on your team in Chrono Cross? He's a pretty unique character, and thankfully, not too hard to recruit once you know where to look. You'll need to have reached Termina first, specifically when you're in the 'Another World' version of it.

Head over to Zappa’s Smithy. Pierre hangs out in the backroom there. When you talk to him, he'll tell you he's misplaced his most prized possession: the Hero’s Medal. Sounds important, right? We need to help him find it.

Now, here’s where it gets a little quirky. There’s a kid outside Zappa’s Smithy who’s just running in circles. He’s the one who’s got the medal. But you can’t just grab it from him yet. First, you need to go back to where you first entered Termina. Look for a man who’s busy polishing a statue – have a chat with him.

After you’ve spoken to the man by the statue, head back to that kid who’s still running in circles outside the smithy. Now you can finally take the Hero’s Medal from him. Once you have the medal, go back to Pierre in the smithy’s backroom.

Make sure you’re standing right next to Pierre. When prompted, use the Hero’s Medal on him. The button for this will depend on your controller – it’s the Square button on PlayStation or the Y button on Switch. After you use the item, talk to Pierre again. You should now see an option to have him join your party. Congrats, you’ve got your hero!
