- 1First things first, you need to head to Van's house. It's located at the very end of the northern district of Termina. You'll pass by the smithy on your way there. If you've visited his house in Another World, you'll probably notice it looks quite different now.
- 2Once you're at his house, go into Van's room, which is on the right side.
- 3When you enter, you'll have the option to offer to hire him. Go ahead and do that.
- 4Shortly after, a visitor will show up demanding rent. This is where things get interesting. Van will claim he's going to find the Frozen Flame to pay the rent. Just play along with this little ruse for now.
- 5Eventually, the conversation will reveal that you're actually looking for the Frozen Flame yourself. Once Van realizes this, he'll agree to join your party!
