Alright, so you want to add NeoFio to your crew in Chrono Cross? It's a bit of a multi-step process, but totally doable! You'll need two key items: a Green Tinkler and a Life Sparkle. Let's break it down.

How to Get the Green Tinkler

First things first, you need the Green Tinkler. You get this by heading to the bar in Guldove. Make sure you've already infiltrated Viper Manor at night and spoken to the Shaman in Guldove to advance the story. Once that's done, find the bar – it's just one screen to the left when you enter Guldove. Inside, look for a peculiar creature chilling near the back. You'll need to chat with this creature two times to get the Green Tinkler. Don't be shy, just talk to them again!

How to Get the Life Sparkle

With the Green Tinkler in your inventory, your next stop is the Hydra Marshes in Another World. If you haven't been there yet, it's east of Arni Village. Pro-tip: it's a good idea to explore the west side of the marshes first to snag the Safety Gear. Trust me, that poisonous swamp is no joke, and this gear will save you from a lot of headaches.

Once you're geared up, head north from the Hydra Marshes entrance. In the next area, use your Green Tinkler from the Key Items menu on the plant located near the center. It'll magically stretch down, creating a path for you to climb. Head up one screen. The screen after that is pretty empty, but there's a chest on the right side – grab whatever's inside. Then, keep heading right.

You'll enter an area with a save crystal, so feel free to use it. Stick to the upper path and head east. You'll soon spot two monsters looking a bit too interested in a treasure chest. Take care of them, and then open the chest to find your Life Sparkle!

Now, to get out of the marsh, head back to the save crystal. This time, take the lower path heading east. In the next area, go south, and then take the first opportunity to go west. This should put you back one screen north of the entrance. Use the Green Tinkler on the plant near you, and the path back should be straightforward.

How to Recruit NeoFio

You've got the Life Sparkle, so it's time to head back to Viper Manor. You'll need to deal with a robot blocking the front gate first. Once that's handled, go through the main entrance and make your way all the way north, to the area where you faced Lynx in Viper's office. From there, take a right towards the terrace – you know, the one you tried to escape from earlier.

You'll find Luccia there, standing over an inactive NeoFio who's in the middle of a pond. After Luccia steps away, use the Life Sparkle from your Key Items menu right next to NeoFio. Watch as the sparkle brings NeoFio to life, and they'll join your party!
