When facing a group of guards (non-player characters), you can choose to end the fight more quickly by targeting the larger threats. Defeating stronger enemies often causes the weaker ones to run away in fear. For instance, taking down one or two of the normal armored enemies might cause the unarmored ones to flee. If a Brute is present in a group, killing them can also make the lesser enemies run.

Targeting a Brute with the Disarm ability is a consistently effective strategy. Stealing their weapon and using it against the weaker enemies can simplify the fight. However, be aware that counters with large weapons like the claymore and spear often have specific timing requirements.
