Azariel the Sunbringer Boss Guide

Learn how to find and defeat Azariel the Sunbringer in V Rising. This guide covers his location, required Holy Resistance, and strategies for his attacks.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Location: Brighthaven Cathedral, Silverlight Hills (West of Silverlight Hills Waygate).
• Required Resistance: 50 Holy Resistance (Holy Resistance Potion is ideal, lasts 1 hour).
• Crafting Holy Resistance Potion: Requires recipe from Meridith the Bright Archer, 60x Sunflowers, 1x Grave Dust, 1x Empty Glass Bottle.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Azariel uses Holy Explosion, Holy Wavebolts, Summon Aide, Holy Barrier, and Holy Storm.
2. Phase 2: Azariel uses Retreating Bolts and Channeled Altar in addition to previous attacks.

Strategy:

• Prepare by drinking a Holy Resistance Potion before entering the Cathedral.
• Clear out enemies on the way to Azariel.
• Recommended spells: Veil of Chaos (dodge), Blood Rage (speed/heal), Power Surge (speed/attack speed), Wisp Dancer (Ultimate for damage/leech).
• Fight Azariel in the center-back of the Cathedral to avoid holy pillars that shoot projectiles.
• Azariel's Attacks:
  • Holy Explosion: Slow-moving orb; walk out of its path and avoid the impact zone.
  • Holy Wavebolts: Four waves of holy bolts; stand between them or dodge through.
  • Summon Aide: Cardinal Aides are summoned; defeat them quickly as they have a holy barrier that breaks with sustained attacks.
  • Holy Barrier: A regenerating barrier that breaks with continued damage.
  • Holy Storm: Random holy bolts strike the ground; move out of the marked areas.
  • Retreating Bolts: Azariel teleports, leaving behind outward-spreading bolts; back up and maneuver between them or dodge twice.
  • Channeled Altar: An altar channels holy energy; destroy it quickly.
• The most challenging attacks are Holy Wavebolts and Retreating Bolts.
• Prioritize destroying summoned Cardinal Aides and Channeled Altars.
