Guide to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall's main story quests, including investigating King Lysandus's haunting and finding a missing letter. Learn about key characters and branching paths.
Walkthrough
- 1Meeting Lady Brisienna (Quest 043): Receive a letter from Lady Brisienna, an agent of the Emperor, within a few weeks of starting the game. She tasks you with investigating King Lysandus's haunting and a missing letter. You have one month to meet her in a randomly selected tavern within the Kingdom of Daggerfall. Failure to meet her within the first month results in an extension for another month, with a threat of being reported to the Emperor. Refusing to meet her will mark you as a traitor and end your ability to complete the main quest. The meeting's objective is to ask around the main kingdoms (Daggerfall, Wayrest, Sentinel) about what they know.
Tips
- To complete the main quest, you must be able to Levitate (a Thaumaturgy spell) or Jump and Climb effectively.
- The main story quests are not linear and can be completed in almost any order.
- Many quests have level requirements. If an NPC isn't offering a quest you expect, level up your skills.
- Key characters are located in the castles of Daggerfall, Wayrest, and Sentinel. NPCs to look out for include: Castle Daggerfall (Cyndassa, Mynisera, Queen Aubk-i), Castle Wayrest (Princesses Elysana and Morgiah, Prince Helseth, Queen Barenziah), and Castle Sentinel (Prince Lhotun, Queen Akorithi).
- Accept any quest offered by ANYONE in these castles, as it might be part of the main story. Refusing a quest can jeopardize your ability to complete the main story.
- The main quest is easy to fail, so proceed with caution.
