Learn about the Luck (LUC) attribute in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, including how low it can be set and its impact on character building.

When creating your character in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, you can adjust your attributes to specialize your hero. To increase one attribute, you must decrease others to compensate. You can lower an attribute to a minimum of 10 and raise it to a maximum of 75.

Attributes that are popular and relatively harmless to lower significantly include Perception (PER) and Luck (LUC). If you do not use magic offensively, Willpower (WIL) can also be lowered. If you do not use magic at all, Intelligence (INT) can be reduced. There is no penalty for having a character with an INT score of 10; they may be unintelligent, but they can still be the hero.

Strength (STR) and Endurance (END) are attributes that do not necessarily require many points, but reducing them too much is not advisable.

Agility (AGI) is very important for almost all characters. Speed (SPD) is important for those who desire faster gameplay.

Tips
  • Consider lowering Luck (LUC) if you are not focusing on magic or specific skills that benefit from it.
  • Remember that you can raise attributes up to 75 and lower them down to 10.
  • Intelligence (INT) can be set to 10 with no in-game penalty, allowing for significant point redistribution.
