Understand how attributes grant bonuses in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, with some increasing per point and others every 10.

Higher attributes grant bonuses in certain areas. Some bonuses increase with every point gained, while others only increase on increments of 10. For example, each point of Strength adds to your weight limit, and each point of Intelligence adds to your maximum magicka. However, your bonus to resisting magic only increases every 10 points above or below 50. The same applies to Strength and your damage bonus in combat.

These scores are not final during character generation. When you roll your character, your final attribute scores will be these values plus 1d10 points. You will also receive between 6-14 bonus points to allocate as you wish.

A chart summarizes how important each attribute is to the warrior, rogue, and mage archetypes.

Tips
  • Consider how attribute bonuses scale (per point vs. every 10 points) when allocating points during character generation.
  • Remember that your final attribute scores will be higher than the base values due to the 1d10 roll and bonus points.
