Defeat the Windmaster boss in Tales of Symphonia with this guide. Learn its weaknesses, drops like Map of Balacruf, and strategy.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Engage the Windmaster in Asgard. Its HP is 10,000, TP is 220, ATK is 580, DEF is 85. It drops the Map of Balacruf and Talisman, and cannot be stolen from. It has no elemental weaknesses or resistances, but is strong against Wind.
  2. 2
Execute a 3-combo attack, followed by Tiger Blade, then Sword Rain: Alpha.
  3. 3
Just before Sword Rain: Alpha's uppercut, initiate an Unison Attack: Kratos uses Fierce Demon Fang, Raine uses Photon, Lloyd uses Sword Rain: Alpha, and Colette uses Angel Feathers. This combo should deal approximately 5000 damage and over 55 hits.
  4. 4
Continue attacking, healing and blocking as needed, and repeating the 3-combo + Lv1 Tech + Lv2 Tech sequence for near 800 damage per turn.
  5. 5
After the battle, a scene will play. Regain control and head to Aisha's house for another scene, after which you will receive the 'Map of Balacruf'.
  6. 6
Exit Asgard and proceed to Balacruf Mausoleum, located SE from the House of Salvation.
  7. 7
Upon entering Balacruf Mausoleum, a scene will trigger. Take the W path to find a chest containing '1800 Gald'.
  8. 8
Go up the central path and speak to the priest before the stairs to receive the 'Tower Key'.
  9. 9
Ascend the stairs for another scene.
  10. 10
Move W, being cautious of traps. Locate a switch on the floor. Go N up the stairs and defeat the worm-like enemy to obtain the Memory Gem.
  11. 11
On top, move W, push the block South twice, turn on the torch, and read the wall inscription.
  12. 12
Return down, push the block onto the switch to stop the wind.
  13. 13
Return to the entrance fork and go E. Unlock the Memory Seal. Obtain 'Beast Fang' from the coffin South of the Save Circle. Light the torch on the East side.
  14. 14
Read the SE stone plate: "The Summon Spirit and the wind that serves it are to be found beyond the carving of the holy seal."
  15. 15
Return to where you moved the block and read the two W stone plates.
  16. 16
W stone plate 1: "The Balacruf are people of the wind. They are born with the wind, live with the Summon Spirit, and become as wind when they die."
  17. 17
W stone plate 2: "The world is a giant. Its ruby left hand is the throne of gods. Its emerald right hand is the power of gods. Its pearl white left leg is the calm earth. Its topaz right leg is the rich earth. And its lapis lazuli body is the blue wind princess."
  18. 18
Move E, go down the stairs, and return to the initial fork. Go up the NW path, past traps, and ascend the stairs.
  19. 19
At the corner, read the NW stone plate: "That which the blue wind princess protects. Heads from the throne of gods and across the rich earth. Stands upon the calm earth, and gazes up at the power of gods."
  20. 20
Continue, light both torches on the N wall, then descend stairs to reveal a door. Proceed E and read the N stone plate.
  21. 21
N stone plate: "The great King of Balacruf, Cleo III, died and was reborn as the King of the Wind. The King travels the heavens with the Summon Spirit, in past, present and future."
  22. 22
Move S, push the block East, then South once to stop the wind.
  23. 23
Go North from the switch to find coffins containing 'Iron Guard' and 'Blue Ribbon'.
  24. 24
Travel South, light the torch, obtain 'Beast Hide' from the coffin, and read the E tablet.
