BOSS: MITHOS (3)

Alright, you've made it to the final stretch! This is the third encounter with Mithos, and he's throwing everything he's got at you in the deepest part of Derris-Kharlan. He's a tough one, and even at a high level, he can be a real pain to stagger.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Mithos unleashes powerful light-based spells like Ray, Holy Lance, and Judgment non-stop. He also has an attack called "Retribution" that inflicts random status effects on everyone. His physical attacks can also be tricky to deal with.
2. Phase 2: This version has more HP (60,000) but is generally considered easier than the first. He still has Judgment, but it's his only strong light spell. Flame Lance is present but doesn't do much damage. His physical attack hits three times in a row.

Strategy:

• For the first version, focus on using Genis' advanced spells like Indignation, Explosion, and Ground Dasher. They work wonders against him. Don't be afraid to use all your items in this fight; it's one of the last ones you'll have!
• When Mithos starts casting Judgment or Retribution, it's your prime opportunity to unleash a Unison Attack. This can help negate his most dangerous spells.
• For the second version, while he has more HP, he's more manageable. Keep an eye out for his Judgment spell and be ready to counter with a Unison Attack immediately.
• Keep Genis spamming his spells, and make sure Raine is on top of healing with Revitalize.
• Even though he doesn't defend a lot, don't expect to easily combo him. Focus on surviving his onslaught and finding openings.
• Remember to steal the EX Gem MAX if you can during the second encounter!
