Defeat Robotnik in Sonic & Knuckles by jumping on his platform and hitting him. Learn how to avoid his ice blaster and win the boss battle.

Once you have opened the Prison Egg, head right and Spin Dash through a tunnel to enter Launch Base Zone.

Walkthrough

    As Robotnik flies towards you, he'll fire his ice blaster.
  2. 2
    Jump onto the platform and hit Robotnik quickly before jumping off it.
  3. 3
    Wait for Robotnik to fire the ice blaster underneath his machine to attack him again.
  4. 4
    After hitting Robotnik six times, the platform will fall apart.
  5. 5
    Robotnik continues to fly towards you.
  6. 6
    Hit him two more times to win.

Warning: If you get hit by the ice blaster, you'll be frozen in ice and you'll lose all your Rings.

Tips
  • If a second player is controlling Tails, he/she can break the ice to free Sonic.
  • If not playing with Tails, try to grab the Rings before attempting to hit Robotnik again.
