Summary of the Opening Movie
Relive the dramatic opening of Sonic Unleashed! See how Sonic's fight with Eggman leads to the planet's shattering and his transformation into the Werehog.
Alright, let's break down what happens right at the start of Sonic Unleashed. It sets up the whole story, so pay attention!
So, the game kicks off with Sonic doing his usual thing: busting into Eggman's space station. He's got the 7 Chaos Emeralds and uses them to go Super Sonic. Eggman, seeing he's in trouble, tries to make a run for it in a weird spaceship. Sonic, as Super Sonic, catches up, and Eggman actually begs for mercy. It looks like Sonic's won!
But here's the twist: Sonic, feeling generous, lets Eggman go. As soon as Sonic starts to leave, Eggman hits a switch. BAM! An energy cage traps Super Sonic. Eggman's machines then snatch the Chaos Emeralds away from Sonic. Turns out, that spaceship was actually a giant Chaos Energy Cannon! He uses the energy from Sonic and the Emeralds to fire a massive ray at Earth.
This blast breaks the planet into pieces, which start floating around the Earth's core. It also wakes up this ancient evil called Dark Gaia. On top of all that, the energy blast messes with Sonic, turning him into a Werehog, and the Chaos Emeralds lose their color, turning black. Eggman, super pleased with himself, ejects Sonic and the Emeralds, sending them hurtling towards Earth's atmosphere. Dark Gaia then splits up and spreads its darkness all over the planet, setting the stage for your adventure.
