    As any character, activate Debug Mode.

    Defeat Robotnik/EggRobo in Flying Battery Zone.

    After your score is totalled, paste loads of Monitor Templates (a type of object) on the floor.

    If you Spin Dash through all of them, you'll enter Sandopolis Zone, but the level is unplayable.

    If you press B to exit Sandopolis Zone, you'll be sent to the Title Screen of Sonic & Knuckles alone.

    Debug Mode and Level Select (a menu option) are still active.

    Use Debug Mode to go through the Sonic & Knuckles levels as Sonic or Knuckles.
Tips
  • The Sonic & Knuckles levels are now playable again after this process.
  • You cannot access the Sonic 3 levels because the game thinks you are playing Sonic & Knuckles alone.
