Begin your journey in Rue Valley with our walkthrough. Learn how to define your character, navigate the motel, and trigger your first Intention, 'Memory or Fantasy?'.
Walkthrough
- 1Define your character's personality using 9 points. Different traits affect dialogue and can pass or fail 'Checks'.
- 2Wake up and talk to Dr. Finck. Dialogue choices don't matter initially.
- 3Exit the room and attempt to talk to the woman at the vending machine (you'll fail due to 'Total Lack of Motivation').
- 4Enter the motel reception and talk to Robin. Passing a Social Check requires at least one point in 'Extraverted'. Dialogue choices here also don't matter for progression.
- 5Obtain your room's key card and go upstairs to your room.
- 6Interact with the suitcase; your character's traits determine if they can sit on the bed or chair.
- 7Time will pass, and you'll receive a phone call. Accepting or rejecting, and dialogue choices, have no immediate consequence.
- 8Review your 'memories' by clicking on each icon.
- 9Experience a dream sequence; pay attention for character insight.
- 10After the dream, an icon appears. You'll see an option to 'Hold to Recall', but it's not yet possible.
- 11Exit your hotel room and witness a truck hitting a transformer.
- 12Achievement: Tap Out!: Go to your room's bathroom and drink from the tap.
- 13Go downstairs and interact with the vending machine. Press the 'reddish button' for water and drink it to lose the 'Thirsty' status.
- 14The sky turns red, and explosions occur. You'll wake up back in Dr. Finck's office and receive a Purple Pill.
- 15Repeat the process: get your key card, check in, attempt to put away the suitcase (you won't be able to).
- 16Take the purple pill (optional) and sit on the chair to pass time. You'll receive the same phone call.
- 17Pass time until you review memories again. Your first 'Intention' will appear.
- 18Attempt to 'Hold to Commit' to the 'Memory or Fantasy?' Intention, but you'll lack 'Willpower'.
- 19Take the pill to lose 'Anxious Apprehension' and gain 'Inspiration' (which is 'Willpower').
- 20Commit to the 'Memory or Fantasy?' Intention and go outside.
- 21Investigate the transformer hit by the car. Select all dialogue options to complete the Intention.
- 22After the loop ends and you talk to Dr. Finck, open memories, select the Intention, and 'Hold to Wrap Up' to gain 1 Inspiration.
- 23Outside Dr. Finck's office, you'll gain an Intention to leave. Commit to it and interact with your car.
- 24You'll fail to leave and return to Dr. Finck's office. A dialogue option tied to this intention will appear.
- 25Attempting to leave again triggers a Decisional Check. If you have +1 'Calculated', you regain control; otherwise, you lose control. You gain 2 Inspiration regardless.
- 26Select the Intention again and 'Hold to Give up'.
- 27Free Roaming: Talk to the woman at the vending machine to gain the 'Fix Vending Machine' Intention. Commit to it in your memories.
- 28Speak to the woman again and select 'Maybe I can help?'. Attempt and fail to fix the machine, then give up.
- 29Go to reception and speak to Robin. Select the vending machine-related dialogue option to learn how to fix it.
- 30If the clock is 8:07 or earlier, give Riley (the woman) a coffee to complete the Intention and earn 3 Inspiration. You learn her name is Riley.
- 31Gain memories: Robin's and Ben Fleming (Robin's father). Ask Riley about the red sky for the 'Coral Destiny' memory. Update the 'Rocket Launch' memory by asking if she's watching it.
- 32Wrap up the vending machine Intention in your memories. Interact with the door left of your room on the second floor to gain the 'The Stocky Man' Memory.
- 33Speak to Robin in reception again. Discuss the time loop and Ben Fleming.
- 34At 8:12, the 'Stocky Man' (Jason Burns) enters reception. Speak to Robin afterwards to learn his name and backstory.
- 35Driving South - Max Gas: Drive south to Max Gas. Interact with the camera to the left of the store to unlock the 'Reality Show' Intention.
- 36Inside Max Gas, find Max and possibly Riley. Listening to them updates/creates memories: 'Careless Driver', 'Max Gas Lady', 'Where's Walter?'.
- 37Talking to Max alone updates her memory to 'Maxine Kay'. Asking about Jason Burns updates Maxine's and Jason Burns' memories.
- 38Interact with the Kitty Poster for 1 Inspiration. Select Time Loop and Reality TV dialogue options to advance those Intentions.
- 39Use your phone to ask about Walter Kay (limited effect). Pass time to restart the loop.
- 40Before the loop restarts, you'll see a dream icon; you need 5 Inspiration to recall it.
- 41Next Loop: In Dr. Finck's office, ask about Coral Destiny and select Reality Show Intention options.
- 42Go outside and give Riley coffee again. Ask Riley about Co...
