To gain 3 Inspiration and complete the Intention, inspect the statue and select all available options until you find evidence of damage. Maxine at Max Gas will link this damage to the election between Walter Kay and Mayor Bill Thatcher. Use your phone to research this, uncovering information about Maynard Kay's mistress and a vandalized black granite gravestone at the cemetery.

At the cemetery, inspecting any black granite gravestones will trigger a montage of Eugene failing to find the correct one. After the montage, use your phone to select "Let's see what this 'Rue Valley Historical Archive' is...". Restart the loop and return to the Kay Ranch House. Enter the old study and check the mirror on the right to find a new passage into the house, granting 3 Inspiration and completing the Intention.

To enter the study directly, restart the loop and enter the Kay Ranch House through the building on the right side. Go through the double doors and upstairs. Wait for the song to end, then knock on the door. Any password will work. Ask about The Signal. If you fail to convince him to let you use the equipment, the 'Subdue Alexander Kay' Intention will unlock.
