How to Beat The Blight Lord

Learn how to defeat The Blight Lord in Rue Valley. Exploit his fire weakness and deal with Blighted Minions effectively.

Location: Ancient Temple, Shadowed Peaks Summit

The Blight Lord is your first major boss encounter, a corrupted entity guarding the Heart of the Blight. He is a large, grotesque creature with powerful melee attacks and area-of-effect blight spells.

Phases & Attacks:

1. Phase 1 (100%-60% Health): The Blight Lord primarily uses 'Blight Slam' (a slow, telegraphed ground pound that creates a small blight pool) and 'Corrupted Swipe' (a wide arc melee attack). His main weakness is fire damage. Stay mobile, dodge the slam, and attack his flanks.
2. Phase 2 (60%-0% Health): At 60% health, he will roar and summon 2-3 'Blighted Minions'. He also gains a new ability, 'Spore Burst', which shoots several slow-moving blight projectiles in a cone. Prioritize killing the minions quickly to avoid being overwhelmed. Continue to dodge and exploit his fire weakness.

Strategy:

• Dodge: His attacks are slow but hit hard. Focus on dodging through his attacks rather than away from them.
• Fire Damage: If you have fire spells or a weapon enchanted with fire, this is the time to use them.
• Minions: Clear the Blighted Minions as soon as they appear to prevent them from swarming you.
• Positioning: Try to stay behind him to avoid his frontal 'Corrupted Swipe'.
