Master the Bronze Forest in Resonance of Fate with this comprehensive guide. Learn enemy weaknesses, effective strategies, and boss fight tactics to overcome this challenging chapter.
The Bronze Forest is home to fast-moving enemies that utilize chainsaws and fire attacks, making them difficult to track and engage. They are all weak to fire, so Molotov Cocktails are highly effective. Alternatively, you can lure them near Drum Cans and detonate them for quick kills. This area serves as practice for a tougher assignment in the next chapter.
Room 1 - Turquoise
Enemies: Mr. Chainsaw Lv 9 x2, Mr. Bomberface Lv 9, Mr. Gunhead Lv 10 x2
Bunkers offer little protection due to the enemies' speed. Utilize large box platforms to avoid Chainsaws. Use the cursor to target the top of a platform, then perform a hero run and jump (Square, Square) to land safely. Bomberface explodes when attacked, damaging nearby enemies but not himself. Chainsaws deal around 200 HP damage, and Gunheads attack from long range. Prioritize eliminating the Chainsaws first. Start with the MG, run and jump to the top-left platform, attacking the middle Chainsaw. Follow with the HG, running and jumping to the top-right platform. The remaining Chainsaw may attack the HG left behind. Assess enemy positions and use Drum Cans near enemies for explosive damage, then retreat.
While jumping between platforms, aim to gain Resonance Points to enable a powerful tri-attack once all enemies are on the ground.
Room 2 - Yellow
Enemies: Mr. Chainsaw Lv 9 x7
This room features seven Chainsaws in a long row with Drum Cans near the center. There are three platforms and no bunkers. The large area makes it easy for Chainsaws to surround you if you miss a platform jump. Each attack inflicts about 200 scratch damage. Target Drum Cans when enemies are grouped nearby, though this may not always destroy them. Focus on reaching platforms to execute a tri-attack, which heals damage and conserves bezel.
Room 3 - Pink
Enemies: Mr. Zooka Lv 10 x4
The Zookas are clustered around a Drum Can. Ignore the Bronze Box containing [FIRST AID S x3]. Attack one of the Drum Cans with your HG to cause a large explosion that will defeat all enemies.
Room 4 - Blue
Enemies: Mr. Torchy Lv 9 x5
Most enemies are in the center, surrounded by bunkers and platforms. Drum cans are also nearby, which can be detonated to damage them. If they get close, they use an oily flame attack that may inflict fire damage. After defeating them, proceed through the red threshold for the boss battle. Ensure the Grenade Box is equipped.
Room 5 - BOSS
Enemies: Leader: Caligula Lv 27, Mr Torchy Lv 9 x2
Reward: [BEZEL SHARD]
Caligula - BOSS
| Level: 27 | HP: 1175 | Body/Part | Soft/Hard | Weakness | Resistance |
| Type: Other | Main Body | 100% Hard | Fire | None | |
| Drops: Dusty Mass, Scrapped Gun B/a, Scrapped Gun B/b, Scrapped Gun B/y, Scrapped Sword B | Part 1-8 | 75% Hard | Fire | None |
Caligula and his cohorts are weak to fire. You can safely ignore the Torchy enemies as Caligula will simply summon more. This is an ideal opportunity to use Molotov Cocktails, which also inflict continuous scratch damage on Caligula if he is on fire. There are two platforms at the front with adjoining bunkers, and more bunkers at the back.
Send the MG to a position behind a top bunker on the left or right, firing at Caligula as you go. The HG should run and jump to a bunker on the opposite side. The third HG can then use the Select button to switch to Molotov Cocktails and throw them at Caligula, switching from guns to grenades. Even if they don't ignite him, they deal significant damage and rapidly level up grenade proficiency. Carry on with the MG back towards the starting point, heading straight down (Resonance Points are not critical here).
