Learn how to conquer the Arena challenges in Resonance of Fate with this walkthrough. Get tips on combat, strategy, and rewards to dominate every fight.
Hey there! So, you're looking to tackle the Arena in Resonance of Fate? It's a pretty unique part of the game, and honestly, the tutorial for it is super important. It might feel like a drag to go through, but trust me, understanding the combat system here is key to everything that comes later. Don't skip it!
When you first start out in Ebel City, you'll get a chance to explore. There are three main areas: your base, the guild, and the shop street. Keep an eye out for blinking spots – those usually hide items. You might even run into some gremlins; chasing them off nets you a little cash. Make sure to chat with Rose to kick off her quest, save your game at your base, and then head out into the world map.
On the world map, you'll see different colored hexes. The brick-colored ones are safe from random encounters, while the dark ones will throw you into a fight. Grey hexes? Those are blocked off until you lay down some of your own hexes. You can check the details of the hex you're on at the bottom of the screen. We'll get to laying hexes soon enough, but first, let's check out the Arena.
The Arena itself might be closed when you first try to visit, but don't worry. Head to the counter on the far left. That's where you'll find the battle tutorial. Seriously, this system is one-of-a-kind and takes some getting used to. It's a hassle, I know, but you really need to nail this down. Once you're done with the tutorial, you can leave the Arena.
Now, let's get into the missions. The first one you'll likely encounter is Mission: Bridge Restoration. You'll need to head to the Back Alley area (those dark squares near the Arena) to trigger a fight. When you're in a battle, keep an eye out for enemies marked as 'leader'. Taking them down wins the fight and also makes sure you get drops from all the other enemies on screen. These fights are usually pretty easy, but if you're struggling, try using a hero jump with a handgun user. Since you can take out an enemy with each jump, your hero gauge shouldn't drain. After the battle, you should get a hex. If not, just trigger another fight. Once you have one, press [X] to open the hex menu and place it near the rainy bridge. Then, just talk to the familiar staffer to wrap up the mission.
Next up is Mission: Pest Extermination. Head to the red hex marked with an exclamation point to start the fight. Again, hero jumps with handgun users are your best friend here for an easy win. You can equip the dot sight on a gun – I'd suggest a handgun for now. After that, you've got Mission: Lex's Knives. Just go to Core Lift 1 and hand over the knives to the chef-looking guy. If nothing's happening, make sure you've talked to Rose at the guild first.
The story mission, Star from the Heavens, requires you to lay hexes until you can reach Cafe Chelsey. Fight any enemies you need to along the way. After the scene there, you can head back to Ebel City to grab the next mission and save some time. When you're ready, head up Core Lift 1. You'll need to find Pater, but he only shows up at night. So, if it's daytime, just cruise around the world map for a bit to pass the time. Once it's night, enter Pater's manor for another scene.
For What the Maid Lost, you'll need to check the bulletin board to activate it. Then, head to Theresa's Manor and speak with the maid. You'll find a broken watch that needs a hex placed near the lift to fix. Give it back to her to complete the quest.
And that's the prologue! When you're all set, head back to your base and get ready for Chapter 1.
