Prison is a unique stage in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, requiring constant movement to draw out enemies. Staying in one area will cause enemy spawns to become scarce. The primary enemies are Base Majini, some of whom may wield metal shields or rocket launchers. Be prepared for Duvalia mutations, which occur when Base Majini explode after being killed. These mutations resemble a swelling Base Majini that screams before its chest bursts open to reveal the Duvalia.
When a Duvalia appears, immediately use a flash grenade. If you don't have one early on, you can try to weaken its legs and shoot its mouth as it falls, or run and wait for a flash grenade drop. Running is recommended, especially if the Duvalia has leg armor.
Black Executioners will also spawn periodically, with one appearing at the start of the stage. These silent enemies should be eliminated quickly with your most powerful weapon to avoid combo breaks.

Time Bonus List:
- Inside the top floor room on the south side of the Prison (60 seconds)
- In the middle room of the Prison (60 seconds)
- Near northeast ledge one floor above where the chicken pen is (90 seconds)
- On the northwest side of the Prison (90 seconds)
- On the southwest side of the Prison (90 seconds)
- Inside the southeast cell (90 seconds)
Combo Bonus List:
- Inside the top floor room on the south side of the Prison near a 60 second timer.
- Inside the chicken pen on the northeast side of the Prison.
- On the raised area on the west side of the Prison
- 1Start on the top rail track. Turn around and break the 60-second time bonus in the south room.
- 2Return to the track and drop to the middle room. Ignore the time bonus there for now.
- 3Climb the ladder on the east side of the room, then move through the doorway to the left. Break the 90-second time bonus to the left.
- 4Hop over the gap to the right and enter the chicken pen area by moving down the stairs.
- 5Hop over the wooden gate, kill the chicken, and pick up the combo bonus from the chest.
- 6Begin killing Base Majini. The Executioner that starts in the stage should be nearby; be ready to kill it.
- 7Open the door and run across the outside wooden walkway, killing Base Majini along the way while trying to maintain your combo.
- 8Break the 90-second time bonus on the northwest side of the Prison.
- 9Climb the nearby ladder and fall to the other side. Break the 90-second time bonus ahead. Try to keep your combo; if it breaks, pick up the combo bonus chest on the middle raised area.
- 10To keep enemies spawning, you must visit all rooms on the bottom floor. Constantly check for enemies, as they will often approach unexpectedly.
- 11Return to the middle room and break the 60-second time bonus. Fight in the middle area until Base Majini run out, then open the east door and fight Majini there.
- 12After opening the east door, enter the left room, then move through the right doorway. There will be a camping Base Majini to the left.
- 13On your way back around the Prison, be sure to break the 90-second time bonus in the southeast cell. Continue to circle all rooms to ensure a steady flow of enemies.

- Hunk: Equip his flash rounds for early Duvalias and use Giant Killing to quickly take down Executioners.
- Rebecca: Use explosive rounds to quickly defeat Executioners.
- Barry: The M500 can quickly kill an Executioner.
- Chris/Jill: Their shotguns are effective for close-range Executioner kills.
- Any Character (Barry's Weapon Set): Skills: Old School, Combat, Handgun Technique. The Handgun Technique skill allows an Executioner to be killed with a body shot followed by an M500 headshot. Base Majini can be killed by stunning them twice with two shots, then performing a melee. Iron Shield and fully armored Base Majini can be challenging due to the need for rapid fire to hit unarmored areas.
- Any Character (HUNK'S Weapon Set): Skills: Old School, Combat, Giant Killing. Start with the P8 handgun and use the AK as your primary boss-killing weapon. Stock up on AK ammo and use it against Base Majini once you have over 100 bullets.
