Your guide to navigating Room 11 in Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. Learn how to defeat zombies with Claire, Chris, Steve, Wesker, and Alternate Claire.
Alright, so you've made it to Room 11, the Anatomist's Hut, on Rockfort Island. This is where Alfred Ashford really let his creepy hobbies run wild. You're gonna find the anatomist zombie here, busy with a corpse, and grab the Anatomist's note. You start right by the door leading back out to the Security Checkpoint area. Inside, there are about 4 or 5 zombies chilling. You've got one fat worker zombie and a few slimmer militia and worker types. Honestly, it's not too tough, but you'll want to head for the door leading to the torture chamber. Keep an eye out for a First Aid Spray on a barrel near that exit door.
Claire Redfield:
Claire's not exactly a seasoned fighter yet, but she can handle this. Just be aware, especially if you're in third-person view. As soon as you move from the entrance door, a zombie's gonna be waiting. Don't get caught off guard! The trick is to run forward a bit, then stop. Hold down the aim button (R), and if Claire turns sharply, that zombie is in your sights. Pop it with an Explosive Arrow – one should do the job. For the others, it's a similar deal: aim, fire, then quickly L-target the next zombie and fire again. Just watch out for that one zombie by the exit door who might not have spotted you yet. The good news is the screen there is transparent, so you can see if he's lurking. Blast him with another explosive arrow. You'll see that First Aid Spray on the barrel by the exit door. Honestly, Claire usually has plenty of healing items, so you can probably skip it. Just head through the door to the next area.
Chris Redfield:
Chris, being the pro he is, can get through this even quicker. But still, stay alert, especially in third-person. That first zombie is waiting right after you leave the entrance door. Run forward a bit, stop, and aim (hold R). If Chris turns abruptly, he's in range. One shot with his weapon should take it down. Now, if you're feeling speedy and the next two zombies happen to be lined up, you might get lucky and take them both out with a single Magnum Revolver shot. If not, just use the aim, L-target, fire method for each one. Keep an eye on the zombie by the exit door; he might still be waiting. You can see him through the transparent screen. Take him out with a Magnum bullet. Like with Claire, there's a First Aid Spray on the barrel by the exit. Chris has so much stopping power, you really don't need it. Head through the door when you're ready.
Steve Burnside:
Steve's dual-wielding guns make this room a breeze. But yeah, stay sharp in third-person. That first zombie is right there after you leave the entrance. Run forward a bit, stop, aim (hold R), and if Steve turns sharply, he's in range. Since it's just zombies here, it's a great chance to practice headshots with the Gold Lugers. To do it from a distance, aim slightly up and fire before Steve's arms are fully raised. This increases the range for a headshot. Be careful with the fat worker zombie, though – headshots don't always work on them. Just shoot him in the chest a few times. For the others, stick to headshots from a distance. Watch out for the zombie by the exit door who might not have noticed you yet. Take him out with another Gold Luger headshot. Now, for Steve, I'd actually recommend grabbing that First Aid Spray on the barrel. He tends to take a beating and doesn't have a ton of healing items. With the spray, you can send Steve through the door to the next area. Felt good, right?
Alternate Claire:
This version of Claire, especially with explosive ammo, makes this room pretty manageable. Still, stay alert in third-person. That first zombie is waiting right after you leave the entrance. Run forward a bit, stop, aim (hold R), and if Claire turns sharply, she's in range. A cluster of Grenade Ball Bearing Rounds should take that first zombie out and then some. Now, move towards the center. If you want to speed things up, hope the next two zombies are close together. One Grenade Round might be enough for both with its area damage. Otherwise, use two separate rounds. Keep an eye on the zombie by the exit door; he might still be hiding. You can see him through the transparent screen. Blast him with another Grenade Round. You'll see that First Aid Spray on the barrel by the exit. It's up to you if you want to grab it. Head through the door when you're done.
Albert Wesker:
Four zombies? Easy work for Wesker. Just run forward from your starting spot and wait for the first zombie to get close. Then, bend down and slash his legs once or twice. He'll go down, and you can finish him off with more slashes. For the other three, just stand your ground and engage them. Try not to get surrounded, and you'll be fine. Oh, and here's a little Easter egg: if you send Wesker over to examine the human body model, he'll stare at it in a funny way. Once all four zombies are down, head to the exit door and grab that First Aid Spray. Seriously, you should take it this time. Then, proceed through the door to the next area. Simple as that.
