Cave Room 2

Learn how to defeat the Gulp Worm in Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, including strategies for using the Bow Gun, Assault Rifle, Grenade Launcher, and Handgun.

This is a pretty long and wide cave area, and you'll be facing off against the Gulp Worm again. If you managed to save Rodrigo earlier, he'll be here and you'll need to fight the worm to get an item from him. If you didn't save him, or he wasn't swallowed, you can just make your way to the elevator, call it, and head inside.

Boss: Gulp Worm

Difficulty: Easy

Strategy:

• Bow Gun: This is by far the easiest way to deal with the Gulp Worm. If you have it, equip it and wait for the worm to surface from the ground. Shoot it with about 5-6 Explosive Arrows. It'll go down quickly, and the Bow Gun's rapid firing rate makes this encounter almost painless.
• Assault Rifle / Grenade Launcher: These are also good options if you don't have the Bow Gun. The Assault Rifle can take it down with about 35% of a full clip. The Grenade Launcher is effective too, requiring 7-8 hits with Grenade Rounds or Flame Rounds. Be aware that the Grenade Launcher is slower to fire, so you'll need to be more diligent about dodging the Gulp Worm's attacks. You will use a significant amount of Assault Rifle ammo.
• Handgun (Chris' Glock 17): If you're really unlucky and don't have any of the above weapons, you can use Chris' Handgun. This will take a lot longer, and you'll need to focus heavily on dodging the worm's attacks while chipping away at its health. Just keep firing until it's defeated.
