Route 7 (Part 2)

Continue your journey on Route 7 in Pokemon Sword and Shield! This guide covers navigating Route 7 Part 2, facing Gentleman Caden, and finding useful items like TM58 Assurance.

Alright, let's pick up where we left off on Route 7! You'll be heading back into this area from the Route 9 Tunnel. Just keep pushing west through the tunnel, and you'll pop out the other side. Don't mind the folks blocking the way; just walk right through them!

Once you emerge, you'll find yourself on the eastern side of Route 7. Look around, and you'll spot Hop hanging out near some tall grass to the north. Go say hi! After your little chat, it's time to keep moving west, all the way across the bridge.

Now, on the other side of that bridge, there's a trainer who's eager for a battle. If you're trying to save time or just not feeling up for a fight right now, you can sneak past him by sticking to the very bottom edge of the path.

Gentleman Caden

If you do decide to battle, Gentleman Caden has a team that includes:

Just a heads-up: Doublade is the evolved form of Honedge, and it's weak against Fire, Ground, Ghost, and Dark-type moves. Passimian is a Sword-exclusive Pokémon, so you'll only find it in Glimwood Tangle. And watch out for Polteageist, the evolved Sinistea; its Sucker Punch move can catch you off guard.

Before you move on, there's some treasure to find! Head east from the bottom of the bridge and go down the narrow slope. At the very bottom, you'll see a berry tree on your left and some Safety Goggles on your right. Grab those, then head back up the slope. After you pass Gentleman Caden, you'll see another nice campsite. Go to the bottom-right corner of this area, and you'll find TM58 Assurance hiding under the bridge.

With all that done, just keep heading west. You'll loop back to the part of Route 7 you've already explored. From there, continue west until you reach Hammerlocke again. Once you're ready for the big leagues, it's time to head to Hammerlocke Stadium for your final Gym challenge! You'll see Hop, Leon, and Sonia chilling to the right of the stadium entrance. After they leave, step inside to face the music!
