- 1Brackenbury Sanitarium: Head to the Sanitarium. Speak to Ethelmoer, then the resident animancers. Ask about Awakenings and volunteer Aloth for research with Bellasege. Intervene during Aloth's Awakening when Iselmyr surfaces.
- 2Moedred's Office: Go to Moedred's office. If you ask about unusual occurrences, he'll mention patient agitation and Caedman Azo's responsibility.
- 3Azo's Research: In the office above Moedred's, pick the level 5 lock on the casket to find patient records. Search the bookshelf for a Note from Azo. Speak to Riply, Azo's assistant, though she has little useful information.
- 4The Wards: Return to Ethelmoer and discuss Azo's unauthorized experiments. Gain access to the wards.

- 9Confrontation and Escape: The soul possesses Flesh Constructs and frees patients. Defeat the constructs and escaped inmates. Fight through more constructs and Wichts on your way out.
- 10Azo's Fate: Find Azo in his laboratory. If you threaten to expose him, he will attack. Loot his remains for research and copper.
- 11The Final Act Initiation: Upon leaving the Sanitarium, a Dunryd Row Messenger initiates the main quest The Hermit of Hadret House.
- 12Lady Webb's Request: Go to Hadret House. Speak with Lady Webb on the upper floor. Discuss your issues with the Leaden Key and learn their leader is Thaos ix Arkannon. Agree to keep her updated.
- 13Kurren's Cases: Speak to Kurren downstairs. Agree to help him with three disappearances in Copperlane, Ondra's Gift, and Brackenbury, initiating The Final Act quest.
