Explore all playable races and subraces in Pillars of Eternity, including Humans, Aumaua, Dwarfs, Elves, Godlike, and Orlan, and their unique bonuses.

Races and Subraces:

Human (Folk)

Humans are divided into three subraces: Meadow Folk, Ocean Folk, and Savannah Folk. All human subraces share the same racial talent, Fighting Spirit. Once per encounter and 5 seconds after the character's Endurance falls below 50%, the character gains +7 Accuracy and +15% damage for 20s. The duration of this buff is increased or reduced according to the character's Intellect score.

Aumaua

The towering Aumaua are divided into two subraces: Coastal and Island. Coastal Aumaua have +20 defence vs. Stunned and Prone. Island Aumaua can equip an additional weapon set.

Dwarf

Dwarfs are divided into two subraces: Mountain and Boreal. Mountain Dwarfs gain +20 defence vs. Poison and Disease. Boreal Dwarfs gain +15 Accuracy against Primordial and Wilder enemies.

Elf

Elves are divided into two subraces: Wood and Pale. Wood Elves gain +5 Accuracy, Deflection and Reflex against enemies more than 4m away. Pale Elves gain 10 Damage Reduction vs. Burn and Freeze.

Godlike

Godlike are divided into four playable subraces: Death, Fire, Moon, and Nature. One of your companions, Pallegina, is an Avian Godlike. Due to their cranial growths, Godlike are unable to equip helmets. Death Godlike inflict +20% damage against enemies at 25% or lower Endurance. When Fire Godlike are reduced to below 50% Endurance, they inflict 2 Burn damage / level against enemies attacking them in melee and gain +4 Damage Resistance. The Burn damage is increased or reduced according to the character's Might score. Once per encounter when Moon Godlike are reduced to 75%, 50%, and 25% Endurance, they project an aura which restores 10 points (+3 per character level) of Endurance to party members in a wide area. The amount restored is increased or reduced according to the character's Might score and the 20m base radius scales with Intellect. When Nature Godlike are reduced to below 50% Endurance, they gain +3 Might, Constitution, and Dexterity. Avian Godlike receive +10 Deflection vs. ranged attacks.

Orlan

The diminutive Orlan are divided into two subraces: Hearth and Wild. When attacking the same enemy as an ally, Hearth Orlan gain a +10% hit-to-critical conversion rate. When targeted by a will attack, Wild Orlan gain +10 Deflection, Fortitude, Reflex, and Will for 10s.
